We generally consider it a more universal oil than tea tree, but each Melaleuca tree produces a vast array of chemical differences due to weather and soil conditions. Normally the cineole type of Melaleuca is used for healing where the nerolidol, linalool, and so forth chemotypes are mostly used in perfumery.
